This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing dust collectors including replacing filters in the baghouses. Basic qualifications and/or traits that the Maintenance Dust Collector Repairman must possess include:
- Ability to follow Company safety rules and procedures.
- Ability to learn plant operations, equipment location, and where to lock out equipment.
- Good mechanical ability and aptitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and take direction from supervisors.
- Have basic tools and complete the tool list in 90 days.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of air flows and air displacement preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of baghouse and dust collector operation of all types, i.e., pulse, jet, plenum pulse, etc.
required. - Understanding and knowledge of bag fabric for correct application preferred.
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot baghouse and dust collectors for proper operating conditions required.
- Ability to change solenoid valves required.
- Ability to pass stack opacity certification required.
- Ability to maintain all baghouse/dust collector records.
- Have the willingness to work unscheduled overtime and off shifts when necessary.
- Safety inspections of working areas shall be performed a minimum of once per shift as required by federal mining regulations. Additional inspections may be required as conditions warrant.
- The Maintenance Dust Collector Repairman is responsible for performing mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs to all baghouse and dust collectors throughout MCC operations.
- The Maintenance Dust Collector Repairman is responsible for performing housekeeping duties in their work area to remove slip/trip/fall hazards. Work activities must be performed while adhering to all applicable federal/state regulations and MCC company policies at all times.
- Maintenance Dust Collector Repairman must maintain a complete set of tools within ninety (90) days of being assigned to this job classification. A listing of required tools will be provided upon hire.
- Maintenance Dust Collector Repairman are required to operate mobile equipment on a regular basis. Proper task training and safe operation guidelines will be adhered to at all times. Employees will not operate any piece of mobile equipment without being properly task trained as required by MSHA regulations.
NOTE:
This is an extremely physical job, requiring 8 - 12 hours (occasionally more) of strenuous work and the ability to maneuver throughout the plant quickly when required (this requirement cannot be sacrificed).
