About Bio Life Plasma Services

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.

About

the role
  • Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma
  • Manage donor adverse events
  • Review laboratory test results
  • Notify donors of unsuitable test results
  • Properly manage informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion; conduct medical history interview, acceptability requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
  • Evaluate donor reaction(s) as outlined in SOPs
  • Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and transporting donors to emergency care facilities
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when unacceptable findings arise or for medical/technical guidance
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable
  • Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community
What you bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate-level recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
    Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Successfully complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for a Bio Life Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
