NHS Forth Valley seeks to appoint an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to the position of Clinical Nurse Manager (Band 8A) for the Mental Health Unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) plays a critical role in providing clinical, managerial and professional nursing leadership across adult inpatient mental health services, with operational responsibility for Wards 1-5.

The post comes at an important time for Mental Health Services as we continue to progress service improvement, quality and safety initiatives, workforce development and modernisation programmes. The CNM will play a key role in leading these priorities, providing expert professional advice and operational leadership across the Mental Health Unit.

The successful applicant will ensure the effective delivery of services through visible clinical leadership, professional nursing leadership and operational management. They will provide leadership to Senior Charge Nurses and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high standards of patient care, patient safety, workforce wellbeing, clinical governance and service performance. The post holder will work collaboratively with managers and professional leads across Mental Health and Learning Disability Services and participate in the senior management on‑call rota.

The Clinical Nurse Manager will work closely with the Service Manager and Chief Nurse to provide assurance regarding the quality, safety and effectiveness of inpatient mental health services. The role will lead on workforce planning, governance, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, risk management and the implementation of national and local priorities across the Mental Health Unit.

The successful candidate will be expected to represent NHS Forth Valley Mental Health Services at local, regional and national forums and contribute to the ongoing development and promotion of mental health nursing practice.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
