Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the NHS Forth Valley Haematology team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse who will embrace this dynamic and challenging role. The role will involve holistic management of the haematology patient in outpatient, day medicine and ward setting, including chemotherapy prescribing and management of toxicities, managing the clinical care of patients within the haematology ward and development of advanced clinical skills such as Bone Marrow Biopsy.

Ideally the applicant will already be a competent Advanced Nurse Practitioner in acute care with either experience of, or an interest in haematology. The post holder will provide direct patient management in partnership with senior medical staff, have sound clinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision-making skills in acute care. The applicant should posses the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, and be flexible in an extremely busy environment.

Experience with in haematology is highly desirable but not essential as training will be given. Applications will also be considered from appropriately experienced nurses within Haematology, for example, Clinical Nurse Specialists, to become an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in training under Annex 21.

• Non-medical prescribing NMC registered
• Advanced Clinical Examination accredited course, preferably at level 11
• UK accredited ALS provider certificate
• Masters Level study.
• Appropriate decision-making course such as Recognition and Management of the Acutely Unwell Adult

Preference will be given to applicants who have all, or some of the above qualifications and experience.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
