Denham-Blythe is seeking a bilingual Construction Superintendent to be responsible for all daily site activities, coordination, scheduling, planning, implementation, safety, quality control and reporting for their assigned job site. They shall be effective in managing in-house resources such as tools, equipment, manpower, materials and supplies. The Construction Superintendent shall set forth a culture of safety, quality, timeliness, and efficiency for the entire job site.
Previous experience in hospital and medical office facility construction strongly preferred.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, field crews and design team.
- Pre-emptively prevents construction errors and improves construction details through constant and effective communication with project design team.
- Responsible for organized, concise and accurate record keeping of project installations, activities, time reporting, and recording of safety documents.
- Orders and coordinates deliveries to the project site in an effective manner.
- Responsible for leading in-house concrete and carpentry forces, coordinating all other trades for an efficient and safe job site.
- Coordinates field engineering needs throughout the various phases of the project.
- Responsible for ensuring that current and up-to-date drawings are being utilized by everyone onsite.
- Conducts daily quality control inspections to ensure design intent is met.
- Manages and prepares as-built drawings.
- Coordinates the special inspections as required by Denham-Blythe or by a 3rd party.
- Responsible for ensuring daily equipment inspections are performed and logged.
- Manages daily reporting of labor and material usage.
- Conducts daily toolbox talks for safety awareness.
- Responsible for overall safety and documentation.
- Demonstrates overall understanding of the project be generating schedules that address the development of the project and close out.
- Reacts to challenges that can arise from weather or owner requested changes and finds solutions to minimize delay to the project.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong communication skills
- General carpentry skills
- Concrete formwork experience
- Computer skills in MS Suite
- Proficient in reading and understanding construction plans
- Knowledge of building codes and means & methods of general building construction
- Must be proactive and deadline-oriented
- Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction industry
- 5 years of field engineering experience with design/build construction
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, business, or related field preferred
- Experience in hospital and medical office construction preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
