Primoris Heavy Civil is hiring an experienced Structure Foreman for our Laredo, TX project — lead the way in building tomorrow’s infrastructure today! If you have a strong background in roads, bridges, and highway construction, we want you on our team.

Job Description

The Structure Foreman will oversee and manage construction activities related to highway and road structures, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves supervising construction crews, coordinating with engineers and project managers, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and project specifications.

Functional Requirements

  • Lead and manage daily operations on construction sites, including setting up, organizing, and overseeing the work of construction crews involved in building and maintaining road and highway structures.
  • Supervise and mentor construction workers, ensuring they are trained in proper techniques, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Ensure all work is performed according to project specifications, blueprints, and quality standards. Conduct inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Enforce adherence to safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and audits.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure that construction activities align with project goals and schedules. Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on site.
  • Oversee the ordering, delivery, and use of materials and equipment, ensuring that resources are used efficiently, and that inventory is properly managed.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress reports, and any incidents or issues. Prepare and submit reports to project managers as required.
  • Identify and resolve construction-related problems and challenges quickly and effectively, adjusting plans and procedures as needed to meet project requirements.
  • Other Related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in highway and road construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
  • Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)

Work Environment

Location: industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop

Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site:

  • Predominately outdoor climate

  • Potential exposure to chemical substances
