A construction firm has been awarded a multi-year contract for a large-scale linear infrastructure project in South Texas, encompassing 60+ miles of barrier wall construction, boat ramp construction, patrol road repair and construction, bridge construction, and electrical/lighting/ground detection system installation. The firm is seeking two Field Safety Specialists to support safety oversight across this geographically dispersed, multi-year effort. These are supplemental project positions, not classified as key personnel under the contract, allowing for somewhat more flexible experience requirements.
Whatyou'll do
- Conduct field safety inspections across a large, dispersed linear construction site
- Develop and review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and support pre-task planning
- Provide subcontractor safety oversight and manage corrective actions
- Address field hazards related to excavation, heavy equipment, lifting operations, and traffic control
- Travel to and live in the Laredo, TX area for the duration of the assignment
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with field inspections, AHAs/pre-task planning, subcontractor oversight, and corrective actions
- Experience addressing field hazards such as excavation, heavy equipment, lifting, and traffic control
- Ability to clearly identify project type, role, project value, delivery method, and federal agency (where applicable) on resume
- Heavy-civil, linear infrastructure, roadway, utility, pipeline, or similar construction experience
- Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1
- Federal construction experience
- Salary range: $85,000-$110,000
