Within our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day and our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while delivering caring service that exceeds patient expectations.
They operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication.
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: create heartfelt moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services; and demonstrate compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.
- Perform basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Show a growth mindset and be receptive to feedback; actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge needed to better assist patients.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to other stores as needed.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
- Deliver additional patient health‑care services (immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntary offsite clinic staffing) where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification.
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public‑health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information; track and document each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Meet state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly between tasks, confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Customer service and team orientation: actively look for ways to help people, respond to patient reactions appropriately.
- Communication skills: use verbal and written communication effectively; active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning: solve problems such as determining total tablets, day’s supply, additional bottles needed.
- Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action.
- Physical demands: mobile, able to lift, scan, bag items, reach overhead, work with fingers, lift up to 20 lbs, etc.
