All About On-Demand

You can work as much or as little as you like. Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. You will create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app.

When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is required. You must pick up and work shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum 4 hours), and respond to contact attempts. Failure to work at least one shift within 5 months may result in administrative termination.

Typical Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to solve issues for the guest.
  • Thank guests and express gratitude for shopping at Target.
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Promote Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application or sign‑up as needed.
  • Help guests enroll, activate, and use Target App features such as Wallet.
  • Attempt all returns and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed.
  • Partner with leaders to de‑escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience.
  • Deliver easy and accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area.
  • Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
  • Store, drive‑up, and cash office duties as required.
  • All other duties based on business needs.

Core Expectations
  • Accurately handle cash register operations and support cash office operations.
  • Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely (lifting up to 44 lbs).
  • Flexibility when picking up shifts (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays).
  • Active engagement by picking up and working shifts and responding to contact attempts. Must work at least one shift within 5 months or face administrative termination.
  • Experience working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
  • Remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shift.
