KOMAN Construction LLC, is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team in Laredo, TX. KC is a federal government contractor that supports CBP with road construction and vegetation control in Texas.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, machines, and vehicles including skid steers, scrappers, motor graders, excavators, wood chippers, haul trucks, water trucks, etc.
  • Typical repairs and maintenance would include work on engines, transmissions, chassis, drive lines and body components, hydraulic, brake, electrical and suspension systems, wheels, tires and undercarriages
  • Maintains complete and detailed working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases for repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
  • Performs diagnostic inspections as needed.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment.
  • Ability to perform fabrication and welding processes.
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of heavy equipment/ diesel mechanic experience is required.
  • Experience working in a construction setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical understanding of diesel engines, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
