KOMAN Construction LLC is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team in Laredo, TX. KC is a federal government contractor that supports CBP with road construction and vegetation control in Texas.

- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, machines, and vehicles including skid steers, scrappers, motor graders, excavators, wood chippers, haul trucks, water trucks, etc.
- Typical repairs and maintenance would include work on engines, transmissions, chassis, drive lines and body components, hydraulic, brake, electrical and suspension systems, wheels, tires and undercarriages.
- Maintains complete and detailed working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases for repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
- Performs diagnostic inspections as needed.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment.
- Ability to perform fabrication and welding processes.
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
- 5 years of heavy equipment/diesel mechanic experience is required.
- Experience working in a construction setting is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical understanding of diesel engines, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
