Heavy Equipment Mechanic- Laredo, TX

KOMAN Construction LLC is looking for an experience Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team in Laredo TX. KC is a federal government contractor that supports CBP with road construction and vegetation control in Texas.

• Responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment machines and vehicles including skid steers scrappers motor graders excavators wood chippers haul trucks water trucks etc.
• Typical repairs and maintenance would include work on engines transmissions chassis drive lines and body components hydraulic brake electrical and suspension systems wheels tires and undercarriages
• Maintains complete and detailed working records for time parts supplies and outside purchases for repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
• Performs diagnostic inspections as needed.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment.
• Ability to perform fabrication and welding processes.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.

• 5 years of heavy equipment / diesel mechanic experience is required.
• Experience working in a construction setting is highly preferred.
• Strong mechanical understanding of diesel engines electrical and hydraulic systems
• Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
