Warehouse Clerk and Forklift Driver

• Laredo Warehouse
The Forklift Operator operates and drives industrial forklift equipment to move materials around the warehouse and plant facilities. Supports overall plant operations with moving components and/or equipment throughout the plant. Boxes and labels products for distribution. Loads and unloads materials into trucks using the forklift for shipping and receiving. Pushes and pulls carts and dollies with material, and sorts and packs material for delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, cranes, or other moving / lifting equipment
- Inspect cargo areas for cleanliness or condition
- Move materials, equipment, or supplies
- Load shipments, belongings, or materials
- Operate vehicles or material-moving equipment
- Secure cargo
- Mark materials or objects for identification
- Weigh materials to ensure compliance specifications
- Clean vehicles or vehicle components
- Maintain vehicles in good working condition
- Participate in the training process of entry-level related
- Provide support to create, edit or file product invoices
- Operate packing or other material processing equipment
- Coordinate material handling or movement
- Install parts, assemblies, or attachments in handling equipment
- Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices
- Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it
- Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles
- Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets
- Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment
- Operate or tend automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines
- Signal workers to discharge, dump, or level materials
Education &
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (required)
- Certifications (desired)
Work Experience Requirements:
- Experience as Forklift Operator
- Certification by OSHEA standards
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment
- Knowledgeable of safety procedures
Skills:
- High degree of attention
- Timely and safe ways of proceeding with tasks
- Computer Skills (Such as Data Entry and Microsoft Office)
Compensation: $12.50 - $14.50 per hour
