The Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) Trainee works closely with a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on production and origination activities, helps with the application process, and manages loans in the MLO's pipeline from origination through completion to ensure applications are approved, denied, or withdrawn in a timely manner. This position will shadow mortgage personnel to learn the mortgage origination process from start to finish.
The MLO Trainee will take various courses to gain in-depth knowledge of the mortgage loan process and sales skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBroad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLSAbility to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLSAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSThis position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The NMLS web site provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
