PRN CT Technologist Float

Overview

PRN CT Technologist Float role at Akumin®. The CT Technologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies, with effective communication to customers including radiologists. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

• Ensures patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections, and use of aseptic injection techniques.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
• Troubleshoots the scanner and all peripheral equipment (including monitors and PACS).

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience;
  Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologist by ARRT. If allowable by state where service is provided, NMTCB certification in Computed Tomography is acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
• State license;
  Medical Imaging license if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Active State Driver’s License (for technologists performing mid-day moves).
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

• More than 50% of the time:
  Sit, stand, walk; repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs; see, speak and hear to communicate with patients.
• Less than 50% of the time:
  Stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
