$27.00/hr - $42.00/hr

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing physical therapy services and related programs.
• Assist in interpreting physical therapy policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc. as necessary.
• Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of resident care plans and resident assessment.
• Initiate individual restorative programs for residents in conjunction with the residents’ plan of care.
• Brief residents on procedures involved in physical therapy and prepare necessary equipment.
• Reassure residents before and during therapy treatment.
• Be alert to residents’ response to treatment; notify therapist immediately for assistance if required.
• Assist residents in ambulatory training as directed.
• Demonstrate to residents and nursing personnel, as necessary, the use of medical appliances involved in physical therapy (e.g., wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetics).
• Create an environment and culture that enables the facility to fulfill its mission.
• Document changes and follow up on condition.

Education

• Graduate of School of Physical Therapy Assistant

Experience

• Minimum of three months recent experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant working in a nursing home environment preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• State of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant License
• CPR Certification
