District Support Pharmacist PT

Job Purpose and Summary

Within our Retail locations, District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence by acting as a role model, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team.

• Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling and immunizing practices.
• Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled, overseeing the pharmacy and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and directing the pharmacy team.
• Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and coaching the team to provide compassionate care.
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization.
• Assist in effective management of pharmacy inventory, focusing on protecting cold‑chain products.
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive and engaging team dynamic.
• Maintain clinical and technical skills, completing required trainings and pursuing opportunities for growth.
• Support access to care through pharmacist‑delivered clinical services such as testing and prescribing (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible.
• Understand and comply with federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards and ethical principles; comply with CVS Health policies and procedures for controlled substances and patient privacy.

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require.
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.

• 1‑2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical or customer service setting.

The typical pay range for this role is $60.00 – $76.00 per hour.
