The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Director of Information Technology to join the leadership team of our Information Technology Bureau. Working closely with the Director of Information Technology, IT leadership, agency leaders, and key stakeholders, this position helps shape IT strategy, directs operational activities, leads major technology initiatives, and identifies innovative, cost-effective solutions that support the evolving needs of the agency.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished IT leader who combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking and effective people leadership. They have experience leading teams and complex technology initiatives, managing competing organizational priorities, and translating technical needs into practical solutions. The successful candidate will provide leadership in areas including IT infrastructure and services, major projects, budgeting and purchasing, vendor and consultant relationships, and the development of IT policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
They will also mentor and develop staff, foster innovation, and help ensure the Bureau is positioned to meet current and future technology needs.

As a member of the IT Bureau's leadership team, the Assistant Director will collaborate across the agency to strengthen technology operations, support organizational priorities, and help guide the continued development of reliable and effective technology services.

Salary: $159,700/year

Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Technology or related field
- Six (6) years’ experience in information technology that includes customer service
- Three (3) years’ supervisory experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license
