Position: Machine Operator I

Full‑time, 2nd shift (Mon‑Fri, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM). Compensation: $18.18 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential, benefits, and overtime opportunities.

What You Will Do

You will operate and perform basic machine set‑ups with minimal supervision, ensuring efficient and accurate production in the hard tool and lights‑out areas. You will also fabricate, cut, shape, drill, and form metal work pieces to meet precise specifications and maintain continuous production aligned with quality standards. Comprehensive training and certification will be provided for various machines, including but not limited to:
Brake Press, Turret, Hairpin, Fin Press, and Expander.

How You Will Do It
  • Knowledgeable in the basic set‑up and operation of metal fabricating machines to cut, bend, and form metal plates, sheets, and structural shapes according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, drawings, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, sequence of operations, and material requirements.
  • Take responsibility for personal and others' safety, applying proper processes, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions, and perform first‑article inspections for conformance to specifications.
  • Build teamwork by collaborating with other departments, shifts, and management to meet customer expectations.
  • Apply continuous improvement principles, troubleshooting, and data collection to enhance production efficiency.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working overtime and/or shifting between shifts for training and coverage as needed.
  • Use computers and software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and ERP systems for production planning and documentation.
  • Perform operator preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Accept other assignments as directed by management.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED plus completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and at least 2 years of experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong reading, writing, and speaking in English.
  • Ability to read, communicate, and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer and software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
Working Conditions And

Physical Requirements
  • Work in a noisy, dusty industrial environment, exposed to non‑toxic fumes, chemicals, grease, and oils.
  • Operate machinery and moving parts, including cranes, trucks, and motor vehicles.
  • Work with moving vehicles, ladders, scaffolding, and at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Properly lift, carry, push, pull, manipulate, and transport up to 30 lbs, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and frequent lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Work in a non‑climate controlled environment with repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Stand or walk for long periods on hard concrete surfaces.
  • Perform bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing, stretching, and similar activities.
  • Reach at high levels.
  • Communicate in English.
  • Work more than 40 hours weekly, as required.
