Quality Control / Manager, Quality Technician/ Inspector
The Incoming Quality Inspection Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials and components comply with Con Med's quality and regulatory standards prior to acceptance and release into production. This role leads the Incoming Inspection Team and works in close partnership with cross‑functional stakeholders including Supplier Quality, Research & Development, and Manufacturing Engineering to uphold a robust, responsive, and continuously improving incoming quality control process.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and develop Incoming Quality Inspectors, ensuring adherence to protocols and timely processing of incoming materials and components.
- Establish and maintain inspection procedures, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria based on product specifications and risk assessments.
- Ensure inspection equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and qualified / validated per quality system requirements.
- In partnership with Supplier Quality, analyze inspection data to identify trends, drive root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to improve incoming quality.
- Collaborate with R&D, Supplier Quality and Procurement to develop inspection requirements, resolve supplier‑related issues and support supplier development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and complete inspection records, ensuring traceability and readiness for audits and regulatory inspections.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and demonstrating compliance with incoming inspection processes.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance inspection efficiency, reduce defects, and optimize material flow.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, quality or related field
- 5 years of experience in incoming inspection, quality control, quality assurance or supplier quality within a regulated industry (medical devices preferred).
- Candidates without a bachelor's degree must have at least 10 years' experience and relevant education or certifications in areas such as GD&T, Electronics, or Quality Assurance.
- Highly skilled in GD&T, familiar with metrology instruments, and experienced in various inspection methods and technologies, including visual, dimensional, functional, automated, and manual approaches.
- Demonstrated proficiency with ERP platforms such as SAP and Oracle, as well as expertise in using electronic quality management systems (eQMS).
- Supervisory or team leadership experience, including project participation and key influencing roles.
- Knowledge of FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and risk‑based inspection methods.

Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is $82,723 - $130,323. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
