The District Sales Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of Outside Sales Representatives, driving revenue growth, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences across your territory. You’ll work closely with operations and leadership to align sales strategies with business goals.
- Manage pricing strategy and coordinate open market bid opportunities
- Management of commission and incentive pay structures
- Train, and mentor a team of high‑performing sales reps
- Set and manage sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Develop and execute territory growth strategies to expand market share
- Support reps in the field with joint sales calls, coaching, and deal strategy
- Build strong relationships with key clients and community partners
- Collaborate with operations to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategy
- Use Salesforce to track pipeline activity, proposals, and team performance
- 5+ years of experience in sales leadership, preferably in waste management or a related industry
- Previous experience in the waste, environmental services, logistics, or industrial sectors strongly preferred
- Experience managing a multi‑site territory or regional customer base
- Background in consultative selling or solution‑based sales approaches
- Proficient in CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long‑term client relationships
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams including operations, customer service, and marketing
- Familiarity with contract negotiation and pricing strategy
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior sales team members a plus
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer behavior in a field‑based sales environment
- Daily travel within the assigned franchise territory
