Overview
Summer Externship - Civil & Structural (May Session) at Martin/Martin, Inc. This unpaid externship is a one-week program designed to immerse students in the daily life of civil and structural engineers. Participants will learn about current projects, collaborate on engineering tasks, learn industry software, build connections, and have opportunities to ask questions. The externship runs May 18–21, 10:00 am–2:00 pm. Lunch will be provided all week.
All applications are due by March 27, 2026; we will contact applicants regarding next steps by April 14, 2026.
About Martin/Martin, Inc.: a civil, structural, and investigative engineering firm headquartered in the Denver area, with nine offices and a staff of 370. Our services span site and infrastructure design, structural engineering for new constructions and expansions, and investigative engineering for repairs and renovations. Our projects include notable examples such as Coors Field and the 16th Street Mall redesign in Denver.
We work across the United States and internationally.
- Completes simple engineering calculations and models
- 3D modeling
- Prepares presentations
- Site assessments
This position is technical in nature and primarily office-based. The following abilities are required:
- Completing repetitive movements on tasks such as using a mouse or keyboard
- Remain stationary for long periods
- Read, communicate, and document in English
- Identify color
- Determine and exchange accurate information
- Occasionally move about outside of the office
- Occasionally move or hold objects up to 25 pounds
- Currently attending college in California
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or architectural engineering
