The position

This position will support the Northern Europe Asset Management business within commercial asset management. Commercial Asset Management focuses on protecting clients’ and their investors’ interests by maximising project net asset value. Responsibilities include enforcing contractual rights, optimising value from the supply chain, tendering and procuring new agreements, identifying opportunities and commercial considerations to enhance operations of assets, with the overall goal of increasing value.

The role covers all technologies managed by RES, including Solar, Wind and Energy Storage. Duties include owner interaction, contract management, supporting complex insurance claims, using and creating tools for project analysis, forecasting asset performance, and managing continuous improvement. The position may involve travel a few times a year within Northern Europe.

Accountabilities
  • Support the Northern Europe asset management business to increase the net asset value of renewable energy assets, which may include wind, solar and energy storage.
  • Provide high‑quality management of ongoing contracts with existing suppliers, consultants and sub‑contractors.
  • Manage a portfolio of renewable energy project contracts through the contract lifecycle.
  • Lead tenders for new services and renewals, including contract negotiations on a variety of operational contracts, reviewing and drafting terms, and liaising with clients and their legal teams.
  • Review contract performance, including supplier performance calculations and calculations of bonus or liquidated damages.
  • Work with key stakeholders to resolve commercial issues, including KPIs, attending supplier meetings to discuss performance.
  • Manage aspects of the commercial framework of the project, including leading insurance claims, warranty claims and material disputes.
  • Manage a client’s portfolio of contracts, attending client meetings regularly, reporting on portfolio status and providing contract and commercial advice as required.
  • Review contractual terms to support and advise asset managers on specific queries, including upgrades, performance, insurance claims, PPA obligations, AMA scope and other ad‑hoc topics.
  • Review physical defects and performance against contract warranties. Draft and send notices of defect and non‑conformance and follow through to completion.
  • Support the integration and adoption of new projects to ensure they are ‘Operations Ready’. Act as adoption lead if required.
  • Capture lessons learned and participate in and support Asset Management Department continuous improvement activity.
  • Attend internal, external supplier and client meetings, taking minutes and updating documentation.
  • Update and maintain contract management tools and trackers.
Knowledge
  • Strong computer literacy with particular knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Docu Sign.
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape within Northern Europe.
  • Knowledge of subcontracting and tendering processes.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy contracts.
  • Awareness of the importance of HSQE requirements.
