We are recruiting for a Production Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Larne. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, hardworking and hands-on individual to join a growing production team and play an important role in maintaining safe, efficient and high-quality manufacturing operations.

Location: Larne
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm (37.5hpw)
Salary: £ dependant on experience
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day manufacturing operation, ensuring production is completed safely, efficiently and in line with company quality standards. Working as part of a small but expanding team, you will assist with operating machinery, inspecting products, maintaining high standards of housekeeping and supporting customer deliveries where required.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment who is proactive, flexible and committed to delivering high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out manufacturing activities in line with company procedures and requirements.
- Operate production machinery and equipment following appropriate training.
- Assist with maximising machine efficiency and maintaining consistent production output.
- Inspect in-process and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Work closely with the Site Supervisor to identify and resolve production or quality issues.
- Recommend improvements to production processes and working practices.
- Maintain accurate manual and electronic production records.
- Follow all legislative and company health and safety requirements.
- Wear the required PPE and comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the plant and site.
- Assist with the maintenance and safe operation of plant and equipment.
- Support the organisation of product deliveries to customers, ensuring all interactions are positive and professional.
- Carry out keyholder duties when required, ensuring the premises are secure and machinery is safely switched off.
- Ensure appropriate cover is arranged if leaving the premises while machinery remains operational.
- Work effectively as part of a small team to meet production and customer requirements.
- Actively support the company's values and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Complete any other reasonable duties requested by the Manager that fall within the scope of the role.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrable hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
- A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to follow procedures and work to quality standards.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to organise and prioritise tasks when faced with conflicting demands.
- Reliable, hardworking and positive approach to work.
- Physically capable of carrying out the duties associated with the role.
- Eligibility to work in Northern Ireland.
- Ability to reliably commute to and from the site in Larne.
Desirable Criteria:
- Valid forklift licence.
- Full driving licence.
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Previous experience working with production machinery or plant equipment.
- Experience in quality inspection, manufacturing records or customer deliveries.
