Work Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑17:00
- Develop and implement course offerings, maintain and update department website and course catalog.
- Monitor new student admissions and facilitate enrollment.
- Analyze programmatic and student needs; develop, maintain, and share data collection strategies.
- Design and produce print and web‑based outreach materials and social media campaigns.
- Plan and host student‑focused events such as orientation and advising sessions, both in‑person and virtual.
- Design and revise departmental documents (guidelines, forms) and track their updates.
- Oversee the hiring of Graduate Assistants.
- Utilize specific NMSU systems (Banner, Star Degree Audit, NMSU Analytics, Course Inventory Management System, Program Implementation Management System, Courseleaf) to support scheduling, advising, and outreach.
- Employ survey tools (Qualtrics, Google Forms, Survey Monkey) and basic data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI) for assessment and reporting.
- Use Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, filters, formulas), Word, PowerPoint, Outlook for data management, reporting, and communication.
- Use content management systems (Cascade, Word Press, Drupal) and social media platforms (X/Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram, Linked In) to promote programs and events.
- Employ AI tools (ChatGPT, Grammarly, scheduling or analytics bots) to improve efficiency and support operations.
- Assist with budget/accounting, reimbursements, purchases, travel processes, new systems and procedures, and meeting note‑taking.
- Seek assistance when encountering complex tasks or deliverables.

Education:
Associate’s Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree. - Preferred Experience: Complex office or administrative support role within higher education; significant interaction with students, faculty, or external stakeholders.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated skill in database management, data analysis, and data visualization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
- Environment: Typical interior office work environment.
- Physical Effort: Light; up to 10 pounds for no more than two hours per day.
- Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
