Professional Civil Engineer -- Transportation and Drainage Engineering.
Location:
Las Cruces, NM. Role:
Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in the Transportation and Drainage Engineering Group responsible for developing and delivering critical engineering solutions across transportation, roadway, grading/earthwork, drainage, and stormwater management. Manage complex projects from concept through implementation.
- Project Management & Leadership – Oversee the execution of roadway and stormwater projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
- Subject Matter Expertise – Apply technical expertise to solve complex engineering challenges, provide guidance to project teams, and mentor junior engineers.
- Hydrologic & Hydraulic Analysis – Lead detailed studies supporting stormwater infrastructure and drainage management planning.
- Engineering Design & Modeling – Use Civil 3D AutoCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS to design and model infrastructure solutions.
- Prepare Contract Documents – Create construction plan sets using Civil 3D AutoCAD for clients.
- Construction Management & Cost Estimating – Support project budgeting, prepare cost estimates, and manage resources throughout the project lifecycle.
- Currently licensed as a PE in New Mexico.
- 5-10 years of demonstrated expertise in a related role.
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience managing multiple projects and mentoring staff.
- Experience managing engineering projects with public sector clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, team-based environment.
- Strong Transportation Engineering technical skills.
- Fluency in Civil 3D AutoCAD.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, and clear, professional, and precise responses.
- Determined, organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to learn and grow.
- Willingness to welcome feedback and continuously improve efficiency through technology.
