Job Title: Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS/MT/MLS)
Location: Memorial Medical Center, Las Cruces, NM
Schedule: Mid‑shift Clinical Lab Scientist with specialty in Microbiology (microbiology experience preferred)
How You’ll Contribute- Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing.
- Operates laboratory equipment in a high‑quality, effective manner.
- Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and reports/documents results per organizational standards.
- Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment and reports them to the patient, physician or registered nurse.
- Performs Quality Assurance work to ensure accuracy of equipment.
- Performs and determines accuracy of technical lab procedures.
- Maintains records of procedures performed, the patient results and the quality control required for all procedures performed. Maintains accurate and complete records of all quality control tests completed.
- Assures that all out‑of‑control procedures are followed and that there is documentation of remedial actions taken.
- Performs all preventive maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, as assigned. Reads and understands all procedure manuals on an annual basis.
- Collects biological specimens. Prepares and forwards biological specimens to appropriate reference laboratory according to departmental procedures.
- Provides instruction to students/new employees about procedures and departmental policies.
- Checks available supplies and reports deficiencies to supervisor in a timely manner.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Lab Sciences or equivalent. Additional requirements include:
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or eligibility required.
