Position: ACT Therapist - (76-70)

La Clinica de Familia (LCDF) is a Federally Qualified Health Center with several locations in Southern New Mexico. For over 40 years, LCDF has provided comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, and educational services to residents of Southern New Mexico. Our mission is to empower and enrich families, individuals, and communities by providing quality care for people of all cultures.

Job Summary

Performs assessment, diagnostic evaluation, crisis intervention, case management, and therapeutic services for individuals, families, and groups with substance abuse issues; provides community consultation and education; staff orientation and training; assists in team supervision and participates in planning, development, and implementation of services as part of the ACT Team.

Core Competencies
  • Knowledge of various modes of psychotherapy and evidence‑based practices, especially crisis intervention and short‑term models using individual, group, and familial approaches.
  • Skill in assessment procedures, diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic treatment, and case management practices including follow‑up and closure.
  • Ability to establish therapeutic alliance with patients and their families.
  • Ability to work effectively on a multi‑disciplinary team and with the public.
  • Assesses and incorporates culture into assessment and treatment processes.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • Actively seeks feedback and supervision, and engages in personal reflection and self‑correction.
  • Acknowledges impact of own feelings and cultural values on practice.
  • Knowledge of ethical principles and state laws, and adherence to state reporting and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients.
  • Assesses for trauma and engages in trauma‑informed practices.
  • Formulates realistic, patient‑centered treatment goals and evaluates progress toward goals.
  • Knowledge of developmental needs of the population served.
Job Requirements
  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Current New Mexico license in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, Licensed Substance Abuse Associate Counselor (LSAA), or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC).
  • Preference for individuals with training or experience in integrated treatment for co‑occurring disorders.
  • Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and current car insurance.
  • Successful completion of LCDF required background check, TB screen, and drug testing.
