We are seeking an experienced Supervisor, Parks & Landscaping to oversee planning, execution, and day-to-day leadership of parks and landscaping projects within the Metro Verde and Sonoma Ranch developments. This role is responsible for coordinating major site work, leading field crews, ensuring quality and compliance with approved plans, and serving as a key point of contact with developers, contractors, and City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation staff.

• Plan, schedule, and oversee all work related to Parks and Landscaping projects in Metro Verde and Sonoma Ranch on behalf of the developer.
• Manage major projects including neighborhood parks, medians, parkways, and the Red Hawk clubhouse.
• Oversee the full scope of landscaping work, including:
  • Fine grading
  • Installation of irrigation systems
  • Installation of plants, sod, rock, and landscape materials
  • Installation of play equipment and site furnishings
  • Coordinating inspections with the City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation staff to ensure compliance and timely approvals.
• Coordinate bulk grading and concrete installation with the developer’s general contractor.
• Coordinate power installation with the developer’s electrical contractor.
• Direct, supervise, and support the Parks and Landscaping crew to maximize efficiency, productivity, and quality control.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved construction drawings and project specifications.
• Direct site clean‑up activities across Metro Verde and Sonoma Ranch developments as needed.
• Oversee and direct maintenance of clubhouse grounds at Red Hawk and Sonoma Ranch as required.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new crew members as project needs arise.
• Order all necessary supplies and materials for Parks and Landscaping projects (excluding play equipment and furnishings).
• Prepare and submit weekly progress reports for each active project.
• Participate in weekly or biweekly project tours with the developer.
• Attend meetings with City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation staff as needed.

• Proven experience leading landscaping, parks, or site development projects.
• Strong working knowledge of grading, irrigation, planting, and site installation practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise crews while maintaining high quality standards.
• Experience coordinating with general contractors, specialty contractors, and municipal agencies.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Must have a Valid Driver’s License and the ability to maintain insurability standards.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop and kneel continuously while performing essential job functions.
• Ability to work in very hot (above 90°F) or very cold (below 32°F) temperatures.
• Must have flexible availability and be able to work weekends and holidays.
