The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services serves as a senior member of the Athletics leadership team and reports directly to the Director of Athletics. This position functions as a Sport Administrator and provides strategic leadership and oversight for comprehensive student-athlete services, including academic support, sports medicine, athletic training, performance nutrition, sport psychology, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) education initiatives.
The role is responsible for promoting student-athlete success, well‑being, and competitive excellence while ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations.
- Provide executive leadership and supervision for academic services, sports medicine, athletic training, performance nutrition, sport psychology, SAAC, and NIL education programs.
- Ensure an integrated, holistic approach to student-athlete development emphasizing academic achievement, physical health, mental wellness, leadership development, and life skills.
- Collaborate with campus partners to enhance wellness, counseling, nutrition, and educational support services for student-athletes.
- Serve as Sport Administrator for assigned athletic programs, providing oversight of budgeting, scheduling, compliance, personnel management, and competitive performance.
- Act as the primary liaison between coaching staffs and Athletics senior leadership.
- Evaluate coaching staffs and programs to ensure alignment with departmental goals and institutional values.
- Oversee academic progress monitoring, eligibility certification, retention strategies, and graduation initiatives.
- Partner with academic affairs to support student-athlete academic success and degree completion.
- Provide administrative oversight of sports medicine and athletic training operations, ensuring best practices in injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols.
- Oversee performance nutrition services, including fueling education, meal planning, and collaboration with dining services and medical staff.
- Oversee sport psychology and mental health services, promoting performance enhancement, resilience, and student-athlete well‑being.
- Support and advance a culture of physical, mental, and emotional wellness across all athletic programs.
- Advise and support the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
- Promote student-athlete leadership development, civic engagement, and community outreach initiatives.
- Oversee NIL education programming to ensure student-athletes are informed of institutional, conference, and NCAA NIL policies and opportunities.
