Senior Accountant, Audit & Assurance, CPA Firm – HRC

We at HRC are seeking a dedicated, experienced Senior Accountant specializing in nonprofit and Single audit engagements to join our Las Vegas office. This is an in‑office role with a hybrid schedule, focused on driving high‑quality assurance services for mission‑driven clients.

Role Overview

As a full‑time Senior Accountant, you will coordinate all day‑to‑day “in‑charge” duties of audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, review of Staff Accountant‑level work, and wrap‑up of assurance reports with disclosures. You will apply GAAP, GAAS, and GAGAS where applicable, document, validate, test, and assess internal control systems, and serve as the primary client contact and trainer for Staff Accountants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply GAAP and auditing standards (GAAS and GAGAS) to complex nonprofit accounting issues (e.g., consolidations, restricted net assets, endowments).
  • Manage multiple engagements, supervise staff, and ensure timely resolution of audit risks.
  • Lead client relationships, addressing concerns and strengthening partnerships.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing engagement updates.
  • Assist in developing, adhering to, and educating staff on HRC quality control procedures.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies to improve project timelines and profitability.
  • Continuously pursue personal development and industry‑specific knowledge.
  • Manage client cross‑selling opportunities and communicate updates on accounting standards.
  • Handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Ensure regular and consistent attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or master’s degree) in accounting or a related field.
  • CPA License (plus).
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience auditing nonprofit organizations and performing Single Audits.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and HRC software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse personalities.
  • Solid analytical and diagnostic skills for complex issues.
  • Ethical conduct in accordance with HRC and AICPA Guidelines.
  • Understanding of relevant CPE requirements for specific engagements.
  • Supervisory skills to coordinate a team effectively.
  • Project management skills and creative problem‑solving ability.
  • Consistent delivery of excellent client service.
  • Ability to delegate appropriately with focus on Staff Accountant development.
  • Flexible schedule and reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver’s license (or reliable transportation) for client site visits.
