Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client's team in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, you will oversee key financial processes, including month-end closing, general ledger management, and account reconciliations. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the implementation of efficient accounting practices.

Responsibilities

+ Manage, maintain, and reconcile the general ledger, including journal entries and month-end/year-end close

+ Review subsidiary journals for accuracy; identify and correct errors and omissions

+ Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, daily cash activity, and monthly bank statements; follow up on chargebacks and outstanding items

+ Maintain fixed asset records, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and amortization

+ Prepare and file monthly sales tax reports

+ Maintain supporting schedules (fixed assets, prepaid amortization, etc.) and recommend improvements as needed

+ Oversee accounting systems, controls, and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies

+ Assist with internal audits by preparing documentation and explanations

+ Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting financial performance

+ Provide guidance and training to staff and support accurate expense coding and data processing

+ Manage administrative accounting records, including leases, licenses, vehicles, and credit card terminals

+ Collaborate cross-functionally to support organizational objectives

+ Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive company information

+ Complete assignments accurately and on time; perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required

+ 3-5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance

+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
Net Suite experience preferred

+ Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles, regulations, and standards

+ Strong technical aptitude with a proven ability to implement and adapt to new technology

+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

+ Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and high standards

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently

+ Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ High level of integrity and professionalism; trusted to handle confidential information

+ Willingness to take ownership of work product and assume additional responsibilities as needed
