POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this full-time position coordinates front office activities, including answering phones, greeting visitors, data entry, scheduling appointments, filing, receiving payments, billing insurance, maintaining dental records, and treatment planning. Implements operational policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma (HSD). At least 1 year of experience in healthcare or an office environment is highly desirable.
- Customer service or teamwork experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to treatment plan dental procedures.
- Ability to read and understand advanced instructions, operating manuals, correspondence, and memos.
- Patient-service driven with poise, tact, and diplomacy, capable of handling sensitive and confidential situations.
- Professional attitude and appearance, with a warm demeanor.
- Ability to reconcile financials received at the dental office.
- Excellent follow-through skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and seek supervisory assistance when needed.
- Self-starter capable of working independently.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Previous experience with dental practice management software is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands include talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and focus adjustment. The work environment involves interruptions, varying situations, and time pressures, with exposure to chemicals and cleaning supplies.
