UNLV invites applications for an Acute Care Trauma Surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
Role of the PositionThe Acute Care Surgeon will provide trauma, surgical critical care, burns, and emergency general surgery. Duties include active clinical participation in the surgical UMC team and call schedule, student and resident teaching, and research. The candidate will contribute to developing the program clinically and academically.
Responsibilities- Provide trauma, critical care, burns, and emergency general surgery services.
- Participate in the surgical UMC team and call schedule.
- Teach medical students, surgical residents, and fellows.
- Conduct scholarly activities and research.
- Collaborate with other clinicians and participate in national trauma surgery meetings.
- Use the 33,000 sq. ft. Clinical Simulation Center for surgical simulation and skills training.
- MD or DO from a regionally accredited institution and board certified in surgery.
- Eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license with malpractice insurance.
- Credentialable by affiliated teaching hospitals and obtain credentials prior to employment.
- Experience in an academic medical institution or equivalency.
