Position Summary
Full‑time, non‑tenure‑track (NTT) Assistant Professor‑in‑Residence of Mathematics in the UNLV Honors College. The role focuses on teaching first‑year math courses and occasional upper‑division Honors seminars, serving students and staff primarily in Honors College.
- Teach Calculus I and Calculus II to Honors students using technology‑enhanced pedagogy.
- Mentor Honors College students and supervise Honors research thesis projects.
- Collaborate with Honors College faculty and staff.
- Participate in service to the college, university, and community.
- Maintain an average teaching load of 12 semester credits (generally in‑person, with optional online or hybrid courses).
- Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited university, awarded prior to employment.
- Proven record of teaching Calculus I and Calculus II at the college level.
- Background in statistics and/or data science.
- Experience in an Honors College/Program environment.
- Experience teaching service‑learning, interdisciplinary, or online courses.
- Innovative teaching methods or course design.
