Associate Professor of Higher Education
The Department of Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education (EPLHE) invites applicants for a full-time, tenure‑eligible Associate Professor in Higher Education Policy position with the start date of Fall 2026. The selected candidate will serve graduate programs in Higher Education, including the Higher Education Policy doctoral program. We especially invite applications from scholars with expertise in higher education policy, student affairs, organizational theory and institutional transformation, and higher education leadership, and who approach their work through a critical lens.
We seek a scholar whose scholarship can contribute to the minority‑serving institution mission of the university. Other research areas will be considered as they complement our existing program faculty areas of expertise and focus.

RequirementsThis position requires an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited college or university and academic experience commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor. This individual must have demonstrated capacity to conduct critical, community‑engaged scholarship; seek and obtain external funding; teach, mentor, and advise graduate students using an equity lens; and have the ability to work effectively with historically underserved and marginalized students, staff, and faculty.
Experience working in student affairs, higher education administration, and/or leadership is desired.
- Earned doctorate in higher education or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university;
- Evidence of a national or international reputation as an expert in an area related to higher education or educational leadership;
- Evidence of a sustained record of research publications;
- Evidence of excellence in the mentorship of doctoral students;
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and service.
Applicants for this position would be tenure‑eligible; it would be expected that candidates requesting consideration of tenure in the Department of Educational Psychology, Leadership and Higher Education will meet requirements for tenure as outlined in our department bylaws and will be voted on by tenured faculty in our department during final job negotiation processes.
Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
