6th Grade Teacher – Nevada Virtual Charter School
Location: 8645 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 100, Las Vegas, NV 89123
Schedule: 10‑month teaching year, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (online and occasional face‑to‑face). Minimum three remote days per week.
SummaryOur teachers create interactive, engaging lessons that ensure mastery of common core state standards. The role requires daily student support, assessment, and collaboration with parents and learning coaches.
Responsibilities- Teach and monitor students daily, delivering curriculum in both online and face‑to‑face settings.
- Integrate STEM content and writing performance tasks across all subject areas.
- Collect, review, and provide feedback on student work samples.
- Prepare students for state standardized tests, including travel to proctor site‑based testing throughout Nevada.
- Participate in professional development and stay current with educational trends.
- Conduct regular conferences with parents/learning coaches and students to assess progress; document in the database.
- Analyze data to identify student strengths and weaknesses; track progress and attendance.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Assistive Technologies.
- Respond to students, parents, and staff via phone, e‑mail, or face‑to‑face within 24 hours.
- Participate on IEP and pre‑referral teams for students with special needs.
- Engage in Professional Learning Communities and extracurricular activities.
- Attend regular staff meetings; travel to face‑to‑face sessions at least fifteen minutes early.
- Alert administrators of concerns about student progress or truancy.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and relevant teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA requirements.
- Experience coordinating academically oriented clubs and extracurricular activities.
- Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education.
- Highly Qualified status.
