Part-Time Instructor, Prison - Fine Arts - FY 2026

The Art Instructor conducts classes for the Department of Fine Arts, Art Program, predominantly teaching in-person lecture Art Appreciation or Art History courses at one or more of the following Prisons:

• High Desert State Prison
• Southern Desert Correctional Center
• Jean Conservation Camp
• Florence McClure Women's Correctional Center
• Casa Grande Transitional Housing

:
Prison courses will require regular trainings and additional meetings.

Other teaching assignments in Art Appreciation, Drawing, Design, Painting may be given and conducted at standard CSN campuses. Instructors are expected to take part in regularly scheduled instructional meetings, professional development, annual TB testing (reimbursed for) and to complete and submit required paperwork in a timely manner.

• Assigned courses, days, times and/or locations may vary from semester to semester.
• Assignments may be any combination of morning, afternoon, and evening hours.
• Assignments may be any combination of any days of the week including weekends.
• Assignments may be any combination of courses for which instructor is qualified.

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in the Fine Arts or related field from a regionally accredited college/university.

Rate of Pay

$925.00 Per instructional unit

$46.25 per lab hour

Travel to and from prisons may include gas mileage reimbursement - .70 cents per mile beginning from your home campus, to the prison, and back to your home campus
