Part - Time Instructor, ABE ESL - FY 2026

Job Description:

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by department need. This position may close early if the hiring need is filled or due to volume of applications received.

Responsibilities

• Instructors are expected to take part in regularly scheduled instructional meetings, professional development, and training and submit paperwork promptly.
• Teach English as a Second Language, English Literacy Civics, and/or Citizenship Preparation to adult learners with emphasis on: listening, reading, writing, communicative grammar, workplace skills.
• Citizenship classes will also incorporate: US holidays, US history and government, Civic Engagement, important persons.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Experience teaching English as a Second Language or English as a Foreign Language.

Salary Information

$23.00 - $30.00 Hourly

Tentative Schedule

Classes are typically held for 8 - 9 weeks for 2.5 or 3 hours. Times are 9:00 a.m.

- 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

- 9:00 p.m. Times will vary at different locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Additional schedules may become available.
