Part - Time Instructor, Computer/Microsoft Suite - DWED - FY 2026 Job Description
This job announcement is not an offer of employment. This requisition has been established to collect a robust candidate pool for part‑time positions that may become available within the designated discipline a part‑time position becomes available within the discipline, the hiring department will review the application material of the candidates who have applied and will invite select candidates to interview based on their qualifications.
Should a candidate be selected for a part‑time instructor position, no minimum course load is guaranteed and teaching assignments, if any, are contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, minimum student enrollment and/or department need. No reimbursement for travel expenses will be provided to local or out‑of‑area/out‑of‑state candidates and there is no guarantee of continued or future part‑time and/or full‑time employment.
Responsibilities
- Teach computer basics and Microsoft Office to adult learners with an emphasis on the following skills:
- Creating new files and folders
- Store and retrieve data
- Program applications
- Proficient utilization of Microsoft Office
This position requires instructors to maintain a sign‑in sheet, record attendance and maintain a pass/fail grade report for students per class.
Classes run 4‑8 weeks, 1‑2 days a week, 2 hours to 3 hours each class at various CSN campus locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Classes are typically held during evening hours; however, Saturday classes are available during morning and afternoon hours.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and experience teaching.
Preferred QualificationsExperience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
