Job DescriptionThe University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for an Assistant Professor-in-Residence, Educational Policy and Leadership, College of Education [R0149918].
Role of the PositionThe UNLV College of Education seeks candidates for a full-time, 9-month non-tenure-track position, starting Fall 2026, with potential opportunities for paid summer teaching. The selected candidate will teach primarily in the Educational Policy and Leadership Program of the Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education department of the UNLV College of Education.
The most competitive applicants will have demonstrated success and creativity in the practice of preparing and developing educational leaders, especially in an urban setting, and a commitment to improving PK-12 education for all students. Priority will be given to applicants with experience as a PK-12 site-based school administrator and/or a district/organizational-level administrator in a PK-12 setting who can deliver instruction in school improvement processes or school reform.
The selected candidate will be expected to engage in graduate-level online and face-to-face teaching and in advising and mentoring graduate students. Primarily, the selected candidate will teach and advise students in the M.Ed. in Educational Policy and Leadership, a school administrator preparation program leading to the Nevada School Administrator and Program Administrator Endorsements. Secondarily, the selected candidate will teach and advise students in the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, an educational leadership program designed to prepare teachers, school districts, and state-level educational leaders.
The candidate will be expected to engage with school and community partners. Some travel throughout the state of Nevada may be required.
Duties include teaching a 4/4 load, service and mentorship activities associated with the program, and service on Department and College committees. Course reassignments are possible, depending on workload.

Minimum QualificationsThis position requires an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Credentials must be obtained before the start date.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience as a PK-12 site-based school administrator and/or a district/organizational-level administrator in a PK-12 setting.
