Position Summary- The selected individual is required to teach in person, on multiple days, at our main campuses, learning or satellite centers during the morning, afternoon, and evening.
- Develop course syllabi and materials.
- Evaluate mastery of student, program, and institutional learning outcomes; participate in development of formative and summative assessments and instruments.
- Maintain office hours for student advisement, participate in recruitment activities, and contribute to program/curriculum development.
- Participate in School, Department, and Program meetings and activities.
- Other duties as assigned by Chair to meet the needs of the office, division, and institution.
- A master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Administration of Justice from an accredited college/university.
- Five (5) years of full-time practitioner experience in the criminal justice profession.
- Practitioner experience within the last eight (8) years.
- A minimum of two years of full-time college teaching experience in the criminal justice discipline.
- Experience in curriculum development, assessment plans, formative and summative assessments, assessment instruments, and analysis of course and program assessment.
- Practitioner experience within the last five (5) years.
Candidates will be required to do a teaching demonstration.
Starting SalaryInitial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a Master’s degree the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years of experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for the initial salary placement.
