Lead hands‑on engineering and technology projects for students ages 4‑14 as an After school STEM Coach with Engineering for Kids – Phoenix Metro.

Schedule

On school days start between 3:00 pm‑6:30 pm. Classes are 55‑60 min long, meet once a week, and you can be scheduled for as many classes as your availability allows. Teachers receive ample preparation time and may be scheduled for multiple classes in a row when teaching at our Learning Center. Classes are held at elementary schools throughout Summerlin, Southwest, and Seven Hills, as well as our Learning Center.

Reliable transportation is a must. This role provides 20 hours per week maximum during regular classes; any hours beyond those come from holiday camps.

Optional Holiday Camp Hours – We schedule teachers in advance based on their availability and blackout dates. Teachers can be scheduled for whole‑day camps (8:30 am‑3:30 pm), half‑day camps (begin or end at 12:30 pm or occasional workshops/subbing. Teachers receive paid preparation time for each camp they lead. Most camps are held at our Learning Center.

Pay

Payroll is every two weeks. Training/Assistant rate: $12 / hour. Lead Teacher (HS graduate+) rate starts at $15 / hour, or $17 / hour for teachers with significant classroom management experience.

Job Description

Lead hands‑on engineering and technology projects to inspire problem‑solving skills, collaboration, and creativity. Teacher‑to‑student ratio is 1:14 at most (1:6 for Pre‑K‑1st graders). Curriculum and all supplies are provided. Online training materials and on‑the‑job training are provided. Supervisors are available to help teachers prepare for camps as needed.

Possible topics include aerospace, civil, chemical, or electrical engineering; engineering in Minecraft; robotics, video game design, coding. If you have a strong base in high‑school physics and are comfortable using a computer, we can train you on the rest!
