Job Description

Instructor to teach Jumpstart sections of History 101 and/or History 102 at a High School.

Job Description

Teach History 101 and/or History 102 classes with the CSN Jumpstart Program at a Clark County High School. Tasks include, among other things, preparation of lectures and course materials, preparation of exams, quizzes and other assessment items and participation in assessment of course and program for accreditation or other purposes.

Required Qualifications

• Applicants must be pre-approved by the social sciences department and the Jumpstart Program before submitting an application in Workday

• Must have at least a Master's degree in history from a regionally accredited college or university and at least 18 graduate credits in the subject being taught (also from a regionally accredited college or university).

Jumpstart Salary

$200.00 per class per semester

Please Note: This job announcement is not an offer of employment. It will be open for a period of one year and has been established to collect a robust candidate pool for part-time positions that may become available within the designated discipline  a part-time position becomes available within the discipline, the department will review the application material of the candidates who have applied and will invite select candidates to interview based on their qualifications.

Should a candidate be selected for a part-time instructor position, no minimum course load is guaranteed and teaching assignments, if any, are contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, minimum student enrollment and/or department need. No reimbursement for travel expenses will be provided to local or out of area/out of state candidates and there is no guarantee of continued or future part-time and/or full-time employment.
