Part‑Time Leader, Supplemental Instruction (SI) – Centers for Academic Success – FY 2026
Supplemental Instruction Leaders attend all class meetings of a selected course, take notes, and read all assigned material. They plan and conduct 2‑3 study sessions per week throughout the term, using strategies learned in SI Leader training. SI Leaders may work on Charleston Campus, Henderson Campus, North Las Vegas Campus, or one of the CSN learning centers.

- Earned overall college GPA of at least 3.0 – transcripts must be submitted.
- Earned a B or higher in the class for which you are applying to be an SI Leader.
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills during the interview, along with the ability to work with students from varied backgrounds and skill levels.
- Demonstrate knowledge of effective study skills and strategies during the interview.
- Previous tutorial or supplemental instruction experience in subject matter is a definite plus.
- Provide a recommendation from a faculty member that teaches the subject you wish to tutor.
- Maximum hours a tutor or SI Leader can work is 20 hours per week. If employed as a tutor at another department at CSN or any other Nevada State Higher Education Institution, your hours will be combined and you cannot exceed 29 hours at both locations per week.
$16.00 hourly
