Part‑Time Tutor/Learning Assistant – Henderson Campus – FY 2026
Assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them in‑person or online to clarify learning problems and work on study skills. Other assistance may include: reviewing class material, discussing best approaches to reading the text, predicting test questions, formulating ideas for papers, or working on solutions to problems. Tutoring is a supplement to classroom teaching.

- Have at least 12 hours of undergraduate work with an earned overall college GPA of at least 3.0 – transcripts must be submitted.
- Have earned a B or higher in the subject you apply to tutor.
- Demonstrate during the interview good communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work with students from varied backgrounds and skill levels.
- Demonstrate knowledge of effective study skills and strategies during interview.
- Having previous tutorial experience in the subject matter is a definite plus.
- Provide a recommendation from a faculty member who teaches the subject you wish to tutor.
- The maximum amount of hours a tutor can work in the centers is 20 hours per week. If you are also employed at another department at CSN or any other Nevada State Higher Education Institution, your hours will be combined and you cannot exceed 29 hours at both locations per week.

- One letter of recommendation (preferably from an instructor/professor in the department of the subject you are seeking to tutor)
