Position Overview

As a faculty member, you will be integral to our mission to nurture inquisitive, research‑based critical thinkers, influential, courageous communicators, socially conscious, community‑minded leaders, and goal‑oriented, committed, and motivated lifelong learners. Your role will create a student‑centered learning environment reflecting our commitment to diversity, lifelong learning, and positive community impact.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative and effective teaching methods that align with our mission to unlock the potential of all students.
  • Infuse cultural elements into the curriculum to create a learning environment that embraces and celebrates diversity, fostering understanding and appreciation.
  • Participate in community‑building initiatives, collaborating with colleagues, parents, and community members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Prioritize the individual needs and aspirations of students, creating an atmosphere where each student feels valued, supported, and empowered.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development, staying informed about best practices in education and contributing to the continuous improvement of academic programs.
  • Inspire and guide students to become socially conscious leaders, instilling a sense of responsibility to contribute to positive change in our community.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Nevada teaching certification/license, with appropriate certifications/endorsement area(s).
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Commitment to the VVA Mission and Vision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Cultural competence and an appreciation for diversity.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in elementary education.
  • Prior experience working on a collaborative and dynamic team, or the desire to do so.
  • Proficiency or fluency in a second language.
