Description

The YMCA of Southern Nevada is currently seeking qualified candidates for 21st Century Site Instructional Staff II for the  school year. This is a part time opportunity that will come with the opportunity to impact youth in the community we serve! We welcome you to apply to join our YMCA family!

POSITION SUMMARY

All children and teens have potential, but some may need additional support to reach it. Research shows that young people from underserved and low-income families often start school underprepared and fall behind their peers as a result, creating an opportunity gap. Through focused programming and support, the Y is committed to closing this gap. The Y is closing the academic opportunity gap with programs that improve students’ educational readiness, engagement and outcomes, while helping them grow emotionally and physically, too.

Teaching

Assistants

Teaching Assistants are responsible for the implementation of the Bell Xcel Power Scholars program, as well as homework assistance, academic enrichment, and family engagement events. This position requires high energy, enthusiasm for the YMCA’s mission, and flexibility.

Programs will be held at elementary schools in the vicinity of the Bill and Lillie Heinrich YMCA (4141 Meadows Lane).

We are welcoming: we are open to all. We are a place where you can belong and become. We are genuine: we value you and embrace your individuality.
