The Peer Tutor supports academic success within the Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Medicine by providing structured tutoring to medical students through individual, small group, and course-based review sessions. This role reinforces foundational and clinical concepts, promote effective study strategies, and supports exam preparation in alignment with course objectives and institutional standards. Peer Tutors serve as academic role models and are responsible for maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and academic integrity while delivering high-quality peer-to-peer academic support.

This position operates under the guidance of the Tutoring Manager and contributes to a collaborative learning environment that enhances student performance and progression.

• Facilitate individual, small group, and large-group tutoring sessions to support student learning and comprehension.
• Reinforce course content by explaining complex concepts, guiding problem-solving approaches, and supporting application of knowledge.
• Assist students in developing effective study strategies, time management skills, and test-taking techniques.
• Support exam preparation through structured review sessions and practice question analysis.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of tutoring sessions in designated systems (e.g., Penji).
• Participate in required training sessions and ongoing tutor development activities.
• Collaborate with the Tutoring Manager and academic leadership to support program effectiveness.
• Serve as an accessible academic support resource by providing guidance and informal mentorship to peers navigating new or evolving phases of the medical school curriculum.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Current enrollment as a medical student in good academic standing at Roseman University.
• Ability to tutor up to 8 hours per week.
• Maintain academic standing throughout course of tutoring schedule.
