Forté Specialty Contractors is looking for our next Vice President of Estimating and Preconstruction. Our VP will prepare budgets and bids for all projects, prepare responses to project solicitations, and perform continuous preconstruction on awarded projects in the development phase.

This position is based in Las Vegas, NV.

• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare project time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Lead or perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects, including thorough scope analysis and accurate quantity surveys.
• Supervise and train other estimators.
• Solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and qualifications.
• Lead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and project strategies.
• Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids.
• Negotiate scopes of work with subcontractors through mutual acceptance.
• Review the total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness before formal quotation.
• Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs.
• Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods.
• Engage in ongoing dialogue with Operations teams for continual process improvement.
• Prepare and present information to management and clients clearly and concisely.
• Build and maintain a database of prequalified subcontractors and consultants.
• Other job duties as assigned.

• 5-10+ years of estimating and cost control‑related experience (direct experience with the Las Vegas area strongly preferred)
• 3+ years managing people.
• Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degree.
• Field, Theming, and Wall + Ceiling experience.
• Experience working with major hospitality and/or entertainment groups strongly preferred.
• Above average experience and training capabilities with On‑Screen Take‑off, Active Take‑off, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam software and other industry standard software applications.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
• Must be detail‑oriented, technically sound and have good communication skills.
• Must be familiar with both conceptual, detailed, and self‑perform estimating.
• Experience with varied project delivery methods (Lump Sum Hard Bid, Progressive GMP, Target‑Value Design, etc.).
• Operational and/or experience in the construction industry required.
